Case Study: Nonprofit
Winter Cohort 2023
Nonprofit work is vital to our client pipeline as we look to expand our breadth in new spaces. Late in 2022 we met a CEO looking to check the pulse of similarly sized organizations in the food insecurity space, particularly as pandemic-related federal funding dissolved -- we wanted to know who they were, what they were focused on, and how we might be able to fold ideas into our client's own operations and initiatives on the heels of their recent strategic planning process.
We worked quickly to develop a research process to identify and understand the most notable players across the U.S., refining our set with criteria we developed after discussion with our client's leadership team. Our final deliverable (A Reference Guide: A Look at the Who's Who of Regional Food Banks in the U.S.) was compiled that presented sixteen organizations (by the numbers) and included qualitative "mentionables" for each, coded by a key we identified relating to trends, activities and significant themes. The guide is an interactive tool that our client put to use immediately, validating decisions about staff, program operations, and strategy.
"The team worked efficiently and strategically to meet the deliverable and maintained clear communication with our staff throughout the project. With minimal support required from our team, they developed a thoughtful and comprehensive resource guide that we will translate into action to improve our internal systems and launch new initiatives."
